This tea tastes really nasty.

So I am sitting here with a mug of herbal tea. Wish I could say that I'm enjoying this cup of tea, but it tastes like someone gathered debris from the forest somewhere and brewed it for my enjoyment. Not too tasty. I have to have a little OJ on the side to chase the concoction with. Today I had acupuncture and this cool herbal smoke medicine at our good friend, Evan's school. I have to say, one of the coolest experiences ever! I really like this Eastern medicine and wish I could've been introduced to it earlier. I even didn't mind being prodded by the acupuncture needles. For reasons many of you know I went to visit this well known Chinese doctor to see about sorting some issues out and "harmonizing" my body. Found out I have a little harmonizing to do! Nothing big, just minor stuff. I loved it and owe a huge THANK YOU to Evan for letting us go and take advantage of this amazing stuff!

I am certain that we have the best friends ever!!

It's such an overwhelming feeling when you realize how wonderful your friends can be. We threw a surprise birthday party for Kirk last night and it was touching to see how people showed up for the event. Kirk was downright shocked! When we walked upstairs to meet the group down at Pizza Port, the look on his face was priceless. He blushed and couldn't have possibly been smiling any bigger! I am just relieved that the whole "surprise" thing worked out! I was stressed the last couple of days running around getting things, ordering things or picking things up! But all the work paid off and Kirk agrees that this was one of his most memorable birthdays ever. Thank you so much for those of you that were able to come. It meant so much to both of us! Here are a few pictures from the night.
I'm sure many of you have seen this photo before because it's probably one of my favorites of Kirk. It shows my husband how he is: Fun and goofy:) The cake turned out cute, huh?
Kirk got a kick out of the cake too! I love his laugh in this picture
Some of our greatest friends, Joe and Britt- Thank you SOO much to Brittany who helped make the party possible. Without her, the party probably would've flopped!
One of our favorite couples ever- Evan and Julie! We love you guys!
Oh yes, and every party has to have party animals! And that's where the Facers and Hennings come in! Thanks to Steph, Dave, Jon, and Jill for coming! And no party would be complete without the Lundquists and Simmons. Unfortunately, Derek and Brittany live down in Carlsbad so we don't get to see them enough anymore. And I am still trying to figure out how Mitch and Lindsay could have left us for Talega! We miss you guys but are so glad to have you as friends!
Kelly and Jason. Need I say more? They are getting married in 2 weeks and I don't think I could be more excited if it were my own wedding! We love you guys and are so grateful to have such fun and fabulously awesome friends! Driving down from L.A. to be there for Kirk says a lot.
The "hot chicks" of the party!;) Love these girls: Shannon, Tiff, Nat and Missy. Thanks for coming and having a good time with us!
No one has style like Meghan! Her and Cameron are the greatest. I've known Meghan since before I knew what boys were and she also happens to be my amazing hair dresser who I owe any good hair days to!
Make a wish my love!
The Ladies! Yeah, and Liz is in this picture now!
Paul and Missy, Shannon and Tiff!
Evan and Kirk get that they look alike and now with their matching shirts people might think they're twins!
Hi Jules! Love ya!
So, there you have it! This might be the last post relating to Kirk's 30th birthday. Hope all of you are doing well and having fun wherever you are. Life is good on our end and we have so much to be thankful for!

Kirk's Dirty Thirty!!

I'm not sure why they call it the "dirty thirty," there really wasn't anything dirty about it! Maybe I'll change it to the "super fun and rad 30!" But then again, I guess it doesn't have the same ring to it, huh? Well, let's recap some very important information: KIRK HAD A BIRTHDAY ON WEDNESDAY THE 18TH!!!!! Whoo hoo!! Here's a funny picture my birthday boy!! I can't believe Kirk is 30!!
We are one of those families that believe that birthdays are more like a week or month long event rather than one day, so we got to break it up a few different times. My parents, who love Kirk as one of their own, took us out to Carbanarra's to dinner one night and then Kirk got to open presents! On his list this year was a new sweater, a new mouse, a new pair of cords, a cool t-shirt, and a brand new computer from his wife! Phew! My husband is expensive! But he needed it seeing how his last computer of many years decided to crash unexpectedly. I was happy to splurge for the man I love, and am thankful I can make money in such a depressing recession.

Oooh fun! On to the next adventure! YOU GET IN FREE TO DISNEYLAND ON YOUR BIRTHDAY!!! This is amazing news folks! Especially when I have a season pass now! After work, Kirk and I took off to the happiest place on earth for a day of fun, rides and the obligatory amusement junk food. We had a blast. Kirk has been working so incredibly hard starting up his new business, that I was glad I had the chance to steal him away from some child-like fun.
As you can see, Kirk rocked at the Astro blasters. But just for the record, his wife almost doubled his score!

We did it all while we were there, and despite near freezing conditions we were able to have a memorable birthday for Kirky.
So, happy birthday to the funnest, happiest, most loving, most hard-working husband ever! Love, your wife:)

Guess who now has a Disneyland Season Pass?!

I do! And I couldn't be more excited because I have never had one before! When I realized that a season pass equaled two trips to Disneyland, it was really a no brainer! And with great friends like Kelly and Jason and Brittany having season passes I realized that it would be worth it!
On Tuesday I was able to hit up the Happiest Place on Earth with my good friends Kelly and Julie! We had so much fun walking onto all the rides and skipping back and forth from both parks! Julie's sister Amelia was able to come too, and I loved her also! Thanks for the fun times ladies!
Me and Julie: Old friends from the Hawaii days! She's from there but moving to Utah for a while. I told her it was something everyone has to do at some point in their life.
Outside the Disneyland "temple" Kelly and I engaged in some great dancing in honor of one of our favorite dancers in college...;)
The ladies enjoying the sunshine:)
Wearing the bug eyes for "It's a Bug's Life" show
On Paradise Pier in California Adventure; Kelly, Julie and Me! What a fun day!

So, let me know if any of you out there have a season pass to Disneyland so we can go!

Kelly King's Bridal Shower FUN!!

It's always so exciting when one of your bestest buds ever is getting married! The ring, the pictures, the plans and the parties! I have to say for the record that Kelly King is probably one of my favorite people! She is fun and quirky and the funny memories we have together are priceless! Last night we were able to get together for a party in her honor at the Clawson's home. (which was beautiful and so well done!) I just love the opportunity to hang out with a bunch of fun girls and included some pics from the fun night:)
Talk about a good looking crew! Kelly has some good looking friends, no?
Here Patty is wearing the current fad of heart "pasties" (more pictures to explain later)
My "hapa" girls! Love them like sisters!
One of the funniest things all night. Kelly's friend Anne designed these amazing lingerie for their honeymoon. I mean really, seeing them on Kelly and her sister Sara one might wonder how to groom-to-be could resist such sheer sexiness.
Super fun game! And maybe I thought it was so fun because our group (Megan, Patty and me) won the contest! Kelly had to decide which lingerie set she would most likely wear and I guess our garter/ mini-skirt/ pastie assemble was a hit! And great prizes by the way too!
The after party was a blast too! Because southern California was experiencing flood like downpour, I decided to go see a movie with Kelly, Jenn and Megan to let the raining stop. Glad I did! It was crazy out there! And we got to see "He's just not that into you" or whatever it was called, and it was hilarious! I loved the movie! Thought it was a crack up.
So again, a big congrats to Kel Kel and her soon to be wedding next month! Whoo hoo! Then the real fun begins!:)

Happy 70th Birthday Jim!!

The Birthday Boy!
One shot of the crew
Another shot of the crew:)
Me and my handsome husband
Two of the funnest people we know- Sami and Dave
My awesome in laws, Jim and Kathy!
Can I just say how much I love my father-in-law? Aside from being the reason why I have my wonderful husband, he really is an amazing man. I look up to him so much and am impressed that he is 70 now although he doesn't seem a day over 50!
Kirk and I (along with the whole Schilling Family) were able to surprise Jim at Forbes Mill in Los Gatos for his birthday. We flew out, Jimmy and Jill flew out from Las Vegas and the whole gang was able to coordinate this event so that he didn't have a clue we were coming and were all going to be there. It was so sweet to see how touched he was when his whole family was there at the restaurant in his honor.
I owe so much to this man that did such an excellent job raising 7 kids, 18 grandkids and being so supportive of everyone in his family. Hopefully we'll be there to celebrate his 80th, 90th and 100th birthday with him too!
And also a big shout out to all of the Schilling (and Halvorsen and Robinson) Families that made our visit up north so much fun. We love you all and can't wait to see you all again soon. And Dave and Sami- you guys are awesome hosts and I really miss you already! Love you guys!!
