My Husband, the 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric!

Way to go Kirk!! This last weekend Kirk's parents came down to support Kirk as he was called to be the 2nd counselor in the bishopric! We were both floored when the stake presidency called us in and extended the call. My jaw dropped to the floor! I can't say I'm surprised however. Kirk is one of the most righteous, good hearted and sweet spirited people I have ever known. I am amazed at how lucky I am to be married to such a great man. Never did I think I would be married to a man like Kirk. I must've played my cards right! He honors his priesthood and is a great leader.
He's only 30 and already in the bishopric.. this could get scary for our family! I am selfishly sad that we won't get to sit together at church anymore, and when the new baby comes he won't get to play with it during church! Oh well, that is trivial stuff! The Lord was inspired to call him and I support him 100%!
Here's a picture of Kirk with his dad before he set him apart as a High Priest. We are so grateful and feel eternally blessed for the blessings our little family have had this year.
Here goes nothing!!

Almost 4 months!!

Hello belly!! At first I thought maybe it was something I ate, but after reading and talking to others, I am feeling those "flutters" in my tummy:) After our last ultrasound, we already know our baby is very active and will probably be as restless as Kirk and me so it doesn't surprise me that he/she is moving all the time!
By the end of the day I have to unbutton my pants, there is NO sucking it in anymore. I love the rubberband trick that allows me to wear all my normal clothes still. I am dreading going maternity shopping! Can I just wear all my normal stuff??

2nd Trimester! 14 weeks!!

I secretly celebrated my tail off yesterday when I hit my 2nd trimester mark! Kirk and I went to that Ultrasound me place in Costa Mesa to see if we could find out if we're having a boy or a girl, and...... it's legs were crossed or he/she keep putting it's hand in front of it!
I don't really care that I wasn't able to find out yesterday because what I saw was a healthy baby that was moving around and opening it's mouth and trying to put it's hand in it and swallow. It's got 2 legs, 2 arms and a strong heart beat. It did somersaults when I started to laugh. It was one of the best days of my life! Ranked up there with getting married so far!
The size of a large lemon our little person isn't making me as sick anymore which is fabulous:)

New Year's 2009!!

Well, I gotta give it up to all us for staying up this year to ring in the New Year! Even with a couple of us girls pregnant, we were able to stay up til nearly ONE! Whoo hoo, we are just crazy in house!
We want to thank some of our great friends for joining us for a fun night of going out to dinner (although the service was beyonnnnndd sllooooow), and then poker and hanging out at our place! Kirk and I love our new house and the fact that we can entertain all of our friends in an area larger than 6 x 8!
Can we get a big holla for Dave who won the poker tournament this year! And especially impressive is the fact that he didn't even know HOW to play poker until that night! Talk about beginner's luck;) Luckily, Kirk had been given a lovely gift basket from one of his sub contractor's this year that we generously regifted:)
The crew playing poker!
