We are making progress!

It might not seem like we are, but we are really making great progress with our house! It feels like we are always working on the house and don't have much time for anything else. One day it will pay off though, and we will finally get to live in our house. In the meantime, my parents have been gracious enough (for the second time this year) to let us live with them while we are building our dream house.

This will one day be our Guest Bathroom complete with a tub and toilet and finished wall.
I am already dreaming of my walk-in closet that will be here someday.
This is the laundry room where I will have an area to set up my sewing machine and resurrect my domestic side that has been in hiding (or may not even be there right now)
Someday Kirk and I will be enjoying sunsets from this, our Master bedroom.
The Kitchen. The backbone of every house that is sure to guzzle up all of our savings to create a haven for me to cook and entertain. Please come by and visit us. We are there after work everyday from 4 til closing and even on weekends!! When are house is finished be prepared for some parties at the Schillings!!!

The "During" pictures of the House

Can you even tell that this was a house at one point??! It's crazy how fast we are trying to get this house taken down and put back together! We are loving it and so excited about this new house. Maybe we'll live there forever and raise all of our kids and grandkids here- who knows! We are probably not going to have the "After" pictures posted for a while since things are totally in construction right now. Wish us luck! And make sure to scroll down to the next post to see the "before" pictures of what the house looked like before the "Termite" (Kirk) and the "Tazmanian Devil" (me) started attacking the house!:)

The "Before" pictures of the House

I wanted to document the pictures of our house as we go along. We are so in love with our new house even though right now it's nothing but bare bones and framing. Here are some of the "before" pictures of when we first bought it. Note the intense amount of wood that the previous owners used. The last owner was a Carpenter and LOVED his wood. We like wood a lot too and all, but maybe not quite as much and as colorful as they did. We are going to be repainting, sanding down floors, reframing, putting in new electrical and plumbing as well as new landscaping and extensions (one day). So, here is what we are working with!
Everyone's favorite room in the house. This bonus room is huge, open to the balcony/patio and has awesome ocean views! We plan on having this be our entertainment room with rock band set up for sure!
This Ranch style home has long hallways, four bedrooms and lots of space. We are going to be maximizing the master suite by making it a 3 bedroom and putting in a large walk in closet and master bathroom.
Not a very good picture of the yard- kinda forgot about the backyard. As you can see, there is a beastly tree in the middle of our yard right now that just has to go. Anyone that wants to tackle that job we will pay you to do so!

The Living room which is kinda going to stay the same
One of the extra guest bedrooms/ Kirk's office which is great since he works from the home and already as the great built-in bookshelves for him!
The before kitched. Yeah, this was one of the first things I took the sledgehammer to- so excited to see this thing go!
