The New Memory Keeper

So, this is the latest edition to the Schilling Household: the Canon 40D SLR. I still have a LOT of learning to do on it, but thanks to Julie and a few others, I feel like I might be ready to snap some awesome photos of monkeys and surfers on our trip to Bali. Thanks also to Timmy for all his help in helping us decide and find this great camera!
Oh, and I took the Real Estate Exam yesterday. Felt like I was taking a test in Chinese. Ok, maybe it wasn't that bad, but I guess I didn't know what I was getting myself into. The test scores will arrive when we are half way around the world, so that's good they won't ruin our vacation! ;)

I can't wait...

so, i am taking my real estate exam next week, after which kirk and i will be venturing off to BALI! (it's in indonesia) i cannot wait for our exotic vacation half way around the world!
This is hopefully where we'll be staying...
And we'll be visiting places like this...
It'd be exciting if this was our mode of transportation...
I'll be learning this while I am there...
While crazy Kirk is surfing waves like this...
I got my new camera just in time to hopefully take some awesome pictures! If anyone has some extra time off and wants to be a beach bum with me, let me know:)

Welcome Home Corey!!!

A couple weekends ago, we were able to go up and visit the Schilling clan. It was especially wonderful because I finally had the chance to meet my nephew Corey! He had just left on his mission to New York when Kirk and I started dating, so I hadn't had the chance to meet him. It must be kinda funny for him to get home and be introduced to his new aunt that married Kirk while he was gone! It's also a bit funny that I have a nephew that is only a couple of years younger than me! He is closer in age to me than my little sister- it's bizarre. However, Corey is a GREAT kid and served an amazing mission. He even walked off the plane in his suit and tag which I thought was pretty neat.
He shared with us some good stories from his mission and had such wonderful things to say about his time there. I was really impressed with this strong young man and while his mother passed away while he was on his mission he remained stalwart and motivated to work harder. I love the Schilling Family- they are some of the most amazing people I know.
Good job Corey! You did it!
The beautiful miss Kennedie with her sign for Corey. All of us went up to the Oakland airport to greet Corey as he got off the plane. It was so neat how everyone made signs and banners and were so excited to see this young missionary.
The awesome Nate, Brenden and Kyle! The "welcome" sign is missing in this photo, but what do you expect with all these little monkeys holding em!;)
Perhaps a little overwhelmed by the welcoming committee, but he looked great!
Kirk with his two nephews, Danny and Corey. Corey's the oldest and Danny still has a few more years before he'll be venturing off on his mission. I keep telling him that if he keeps making that face one of these days it's going to get stuck like that!
We were really lucky to have the opportunity to go up for that special event and wish Corey good luck with BYU in the fall and whatever else comes his way!

"Take me out to the Ball Game!"

Go Angels!! Well, all of our cheering apparently didn't work for the Angel's last night because they were stomped by the Oriel's 3-0. The Angel's had won the night before so we were excited to see them win again! Oh well, you can't win them all, if you could, the game would not be nearly as entertaining. Regardless of the loss, we were still able to have a great time with our friends Missy and Paul. They were so rad to invite us to the game and enjoy the amazing seats that they have! The crowd was energetic, the weather absolutely perfect and we enjoyed our night out at the Ball Game!
In our Angel's colors, red and white, Kirk, me, Missy, and Paul. Do you notice the awesome floppy hats Missy and Paul are wearing? Yeah, those were included in the night's game- so rad!
The 2 lovebirds, Paul and Missy. She's glowing, it's almost as if...
One of the Angel's stars up to base: Vladi as we like to call him. A strong hitter, just not this night. I brought my new camera to the game of which I am still learning how to use, and had a great time snapping away!
What do the Schillings like more than anything about sport's games? THE FOOD! Oh yeah baby! Hot dogs and Nachos, big sodas and peanuts, even an icecream sandwich the finish the night off right!
Conditions were perfect! Awesome company, awesome seats, an AWESOME team that for the most part is doing AMAZING this year, and just an all around awesome night! Thanks again Missy and Paul- you guys rock!

My NEW Ride!!

I know you'll all be bummed because I don't have pictures to post, but I wanted to express my excitement with the new car I got! I was able to trade in my Lexus RX 330 for a beautiful, fully loaded Lexus IS 250. It's got black leather interior with heated AND air conditioned seats, navigation, blue tooth, cameras, you name it! The car is glacier white (almost mother of pearl looking) and looks brand new! I have been wanting this car for a long, long time now and am THRILLED that I have a new car to drive!
I had a lot of good reasoning as to why I switched cars. First off, I didn't need an SUV for myself and the daily driving that I do. If I had kids or a career of carting people around, I would've wanted the bigger car, but I don't have either.
The IS 250 gets better gas mileage which is great especially with gas prices where they are. It's a v6 engine which still means tremendous get-up and go, but it's a smaller engine than the IS 350 that requires more gas. This car is newer, has low miles and is a ton of fun to drive. Kirk doesn't even let me drive when we're together in it.
Being a car broker is so much fun, I love it! I also really LOVE cars so it's a total perk to drive whatever I want.
