My daughter cracks me up. This picture sums up the personality of this little girl. She is funny! She loves making funny faces and being a goof ball. With any luck she'll end up funny and goofy just like her daddy. She is just about the best thing in the world to spend the day with!
Funny thing about Malia: She LOVES tags. She'll spend hours playing with different tags on her toys, dolls, blankets, clothes.. it's kind of bizarre. When she wakes up in the morning she'll entertain herself with the tags on her stuff animals in her crib until we get her. She is getting really good at her fine motor skills of using her pincer grip.
While she isn't crawling yet, she is doing a lot of push ups these days. She spends the days rolling around and sitting up by herself, yet doesn't seem bothered that she can't really get around yet. Oh well, that's fine by me! Easier for me to keep tabs on her!
She still just has 2 teeth but they are out and so cute! We just started brushing her teeth and she doesn't quite grasp the concept yet.
She's got a serious personality at times and I just stare at her in wonder. How did I get such a pensive and serious baby?! She's going to be the one telling us what to do and will probably be helping with our taxes as she gets older.
Everything goes in her mouth! If Hobbs isn't careful with his toys, she'll end up with those in her mouth too! It's kinda gross but we'll building her immune system, right?Among her favorite toys: this one rattle that her cousins Bentley and Kamryn gave her, my lip gloss tube, plastic spoons, paper plates, ribbons and cords, paper, and books. She is also taking a liking to dolls and animals now which is really cute. Her fascination with non-toy items makes me wonder if I should even buy her more toys. She LOVES her books though! I'm glad too because I love books and we'll spend hours reading them together. She takes one along with her in the car and reads them with me at church. Hopefully this love of reading sticks with her!
So there's 7 month Malia Joy to the World Schilling for ya. Here are some other facts that I'll want to remember as time goes by:- She shrieks and sings and talks all day long. She's perfected the "babas, gagas, dadas, papas, nanas, blablas, mamas" and rambles them all together.
- She laughs at Hobbs and they really do love each other.
- She LOVES being outside and going places. She loves her walks and loves the swing.
- She knows her family and is getting just the slightest bit of stranger anxiety.
- She is still mostly on breast milk but is taking formula now too. She only likes to nurse a couple of times a day and then wants a bottle too.
- She likes all food- fruits, veggies, oatmeal, mixed foods. Her favorites are avocados, bananas and sweet potatoes. She does not like cantaloupe.. yet. We are going to get her to eat EVERYTHING. Because that's what we eat in the Schilling household. EVERYTHING
- She sleeps 11 hours straight every night (8:30- 7:30am). Takes a nap from 9ish to 11ish. another nap from 3ish to 5ish.
- She's eating 3 meals a day with some snacks as needed.
- She does not know how to use a sippy cup yet and insists on just drinking water from cups and straws (no juice for this girl yet).
- She loves her bath and could spend the whole night playing in it.
- Oh, and she likes things hot. All her food and milk she wants hot. Is that weird? If she isn't drinking it I'll make it warmer and then she'll drink it. Strange.
Being a mom is hard work but never in a million years would I say I have lost myself to being a mom. If anything, I have gained a real sense of purpose and wouldn't change it for the world.
Enough blogging for me! Have a good day!
