10 weeks to go!!

So my once deep and cavernous belly button has now become an "outtie." I feel like a Thanksgiving turkey with one of those thingy-bobs in them that pop out when the bird is done. However, I am not quite done cooking baby Malia although she comes equipped now with toenails, eyelashes, hair, and 3 1/2 pounds of beauty.
The other day I was out hitting up Ladera Ranch's annual garage sale and had two different people exclaim within minutes of each other: "Oh you are so tiny for being over 7 months!" and then someone else saying "Whoa! You look like you're ready to pop any moment!" Haha, very funny people. I would like to say I'm somewhere in between those two extremes.
Malia is getting so strong. I can feel her constantly throughout the day. My tummy gets so hard from her head or butt or whatever it is rolling around in there. I think I might miss this feeling when she gets here. But we can't wait. We have taken our maternity tour and am ready for my breast feeding and baby care classes.
Once upon a time I had a life outside of thinking about this baby, but then it changed. And from what I've heard, it's not ever going to be going back. My little love..:)

Medevil Times my Lord and Lady!

So in case you haven't been, you might want to check it out sometime, especially if you have some kids! The deVilliers and us went out for a fun birthday night at Medevil Times. They hadn't been before and it's been decades since Kirk and I had gone. It's a little more cheesy than I remember but hey, they feed you while being entertained so who's not down for that?

Before I get into the photo-journaling of the show, I want to draw your attention to this amazing model of a treehouse that Jason made. You might remember when Kelly and I got to be on the Yo Gabba Gabba show where we had a "party in a treehouse with the SOUNDS." Jason is a super talented director, producer, screen writer and editor and we had SO much fun being on that show!
Okay, back to the main event...

It was very difficult to control the amount of excitement the night had to offer. I mean we were practically jumping out of our seats with the thrills of the fencing, jousting and comedy. Our black and white knight lost first though. So that kinda sucked.

We made some Medevil friends with the locals. If you would like to purchase this knight in shining amour, it's only $6,300. I mean, who wouldn't want to buy it for that reasonable price?..

Towards the beginning of the night, before you would think people had enough time to get completing drunk and belligerent, we had the opportunity to watch a full blown fight go down! See what happens when you drink and watch a bunch of knights on horses! These Vatos started harassing the couple in front of them and before you knew it, glasses and bottles were being thrown and it was a bloody mess! The security guards got involved and everyone was punching and kicking and yelling! It was too much! We didn't know whether to watch the horses or the fighting drunks!
Dinner and a show is what we paid for and dinner and a couple of great shows is what we got:)

And there you have it! That was our fun night out. Thanks to Jason and Kelly for always being so down for any adventure that we think up. We can't wait to travel the world with them someday!

p.s. On a side note: When the heck did I get I get so big? I am not trying to say I am fat because I know I am not. But holy cow! I need to re-evaluate my outfits before going out! My goodness!!

7 months!

I can't believe I am over 28 weeks already! Aside from a sickly 1st trimester, this pregnancy is going by pretty quick! As I move into my 3rd and final trimester, having a baby is becoming more of a reality and incredibly exciting to me! I am dying with anticipation! Showers are being organized, the baby's bedding has been designed (etsy.com if you're interested in looking at it) and the nursery is slowing but surely coming together.
Malia is constantly on the move which makes me smile from the inside out. She gets hiccups almost everyday and loves to roll around and kick back if I poke her:) The maternity jeans that one of my girlfriends got for me now fit (when I used to SWIM in them), and I have gained 20 pounds! Holy moly! 11 weeks to go!

Oh yeah, that time of year again..

As us ladies get older each year I am reminded of being a child and looking forward to my birthdays months in advance. I remember how grand it was saying I was one year older! I felt so grown up. Now I am a grown up and would prefer it if people didn't ask me how old I was. I do not need to be reminded that I am in my last year of my twenties. Yikes! How the heck did that happen??! Aren't I still 19 or something? Well, I feel that way anyway:)
My birthday was wonderful! I have the greatest husband, family and friends in the world! We went to Roy's for my birthday dinner and enjoyed some of the best food on the planet. Each time we go there Kirk and I leave brainstorming on how we can move out to Hawaii.. It's always just a dream.
We had birthday cake and then birthday cupcakes and a birthday icecream sundae. Brette and Kirk pulled off a fabulous surprise birthday dinner at Farrell's and I was super impressed! I had NO clue!!! I almost cried seeing everyone there to celebrate my birthday with me. Darn pregnany hormones get me emotional at EVERYTHING! Thanks guys for making this year so special and I look forward to many many more to come!

Easter in Utah!

Ah family! I sure do love my family!! We had a great time in Utah and Wyoming over Spring Break and were able to spend some time site seeing, going to conference and just hanging with the cousins, aunties, uncles, and some friends! Here I am with my cousin Maile and my little sister Brookie! We had a fabulous Easter meal at my Auntie Wendy's house! It was delicious and all my aunties there (Wendy, Jan and Luanne) are so hospitable! Thank you for letting us come spend time with you!

Salt Lake Temple! As old as it is, I am still always impressed when I look at the craftsmanship that went into building this beautiful temple. Unfortunately however, there are so many Mormon haters that like to hang out on the temple grounds that are loud and very annoying!

Mi Hermana Brooke! Soon to be leaving for New York where she will freeze her butt off.. I mean, teach the gospel in Spanish! She's such a good girl. I can't believe she will be leaving in less than 2 months!

My mom, dad, sister and me. Missing from the picture is Travis who is in Australia on his mission and Kirk (who was stuck at home working while we played). I have such a good, hard working husband! I missed him terribly while I was away.

This is a funny picture where I look like a giant amazon woman. I shouldn't have stood on the top step and someone should have told me to take off my fluffy jacket, and oh yeah, I have a big belly which adds some pounds too!

There are over 41,000 people that can be seated in the conference center. Pretty remarkable! And look, no beams or support joists to hold all those Mormons up! Crazy! It's a pretty neat thing to be in a spot where you can feel the spirit with so many other people that believe so much of the same stuff as you.

So this was fun. Getting snowed in while in Wyoming was a fun adventure! We left from Evanston Wyoming where Maile and her husband Aaron live and drove to Green River Wyoming in what was some of the worst weather I have ever seen! I just kept praying and praying.. Goodness it was scary! We drove through blizzards, hail, sleet and fog! I deeply respect those individuals that have to drive through that sort of weather all the time because there is NO way this California girl could handle that! The picture above is the view from my Aunt Marcia and Uncle Marcus' house. We spent the day drinking hot cocoa, watching movies and eating tuna melts. Sounds like a good day to me! Nothing like an excuse to stay in comfy clothes and not do much for the day:)

Living in Southern California we get to enjoy the beach, palm trees and temperate climate year round, but we certainly don't get to see these gorgeous snow capped mountains and lakes and rivers all over the place! It was a very scenic drive.

It keeps growing and growing..

My mission: To make all of you so flippin tired of looking at my pregnant belly! It's just a miracle to me, that's all and I promise to only photo-document with my first baby. The other ones will just get a couple photos here and there:) It sometimes freaks me out to feel this little alien move around so much inside of me. So far motherhood is the most intriguing, most unique experience I have ever had!

Have I mentioned that she has a name? We have decided on Malia Joy Schilling. There are a couple of reasons (or people I should say) why we did that. Malia is a family name and happens to be my only sister's middle name. Joy is my mom's middle name. Seeing how I only have one sister and one mom and she is the first grandbaby on my side, we only found it appropriate. She is going to have a lot to live up to since I think the world of both my mom and sister.

By the way, have I mentioned how proud I am of my little sister who has been called to serve in the Rochester, New York mission Spanish speaking? She will also get to work at the Hill Cumorah visitor's center. She reports June 2nd and I will miss her dearly. Too bad both of my siblings will be gone when Malia is born, but they'll just have to make up for lost time when they get home!
