We were able to take a beautiful and wonderful vacation to Maui with Kirk's parents, Jim and Kathy, for a week and a half. Pardon the picture overload, but you know how it is, you don't want to leave anything out!

This was Malia's first flight and she did fantastic! We were sweating bullets that she was going to be "that baby" that cried and screamed the whole time. That was not the case. In fact, others after the flight looked behind us and said, "wow, I didn't even know there was a baby back there! She didn't make a peep!" I'd like to give Kirk and myself credit for this, but the fact that Malia is the most mellow, chill and happy baby is all her, not us!

Oops, picture out of order and lazy Chelsea not in the mood to move it..;)
Kirk and I are still really serious people, don't worry about that.

This was Malia's bed for the trip. She did great adjusting to the time change, another big "phew!" on our part.

We have a funny baby

Who passes out when she's had enough fun for the day

She's content just relaxing under a tree or umbrella singing to us or herself.

Of course we ate out a lot. We like Jim and Kathy because they like to eat a lot like us. We must all be related.

We toured and sight saw.

Malia learned to fly. Not really. She started out with pants on this day. You can figure what happened to them.

We used plenty of sunscreen so our white baby would stay white. She enjoyed the beach and exploring the island with all of us.

This was the beach by our hotel- Ironwoods. Kirk surfed it a bunch of times. Malia and I got sandblasted there a couple of days. Maui is so beautiful and fun, but very windy!

Grandma and Grandpa with their camera gear. Have I mentioned that my mother-in-law is amazing with a camera? She loved taking pictures on our trip.

A happy family of 3. Still weird to say the word "daughter." I dunno, when does it become natural to say?

We love love love our bubbas!!! Holy geez we are crazy in love with her!

We pampered ourselves a couple of times with some room service. I told Kirk for Christmas I would like room service and little housekeeping fairies. He said he could arrange that. not.

On our way to the pool. I am holding
hot chocolate from the hotel:)

These two were inseparable the whole trip. Kirk loves to carry Malia and she loves to be carried by him! They are best friends.

We celebrated Malia's first Halloween while we were there! This year she was a cow. Our Halloween consisted of dressing her up after a long and fun day, going down to grandma and grandpa's room and spitting up on their couch. It was awesome!

Moo

We spent a few days in Kaanapali and snorkeled around Black Rock. Can I just tell you a little story?! One afternoon while snorkeling, we found millions of fish. Next thing I know Kirk's grabbing my arm to point out a Reef Shark (later to find out they are moderately aggressive!) then a Manta Ray swims by followed by the biggest Sea Turtle I had ever seen. It was like a scene from "Finding Nemo." Best snorkeling day ever!

Local delicacies: Shave ice

There goes Malia again, passing out from too much fun. At 3 1/2 months they are so easy to take around!

Napili beach where we snorkeled with turtles, it was awesome of course.

The shave ice was bigger than Malia!

Me and the Hubby. It's so fun being married to my best friend!

Here's my other best friend giving me a soccer kick to the jaw.

Our "backyard" from our hotel room.

Malia with her Malia doll that we found! You see, the baby on the left was what I thought Malia was going to look like. The baby on the right is what actually turned out. We think baby on the right is cuter nonetheless!

More shave ice

Malia had a bunch of firsts on this trip including her first time in a pool! She was apprehensive at first and realized it wasn't as warm as her baths, but she seemed to enjoy it after a while.

Super baby!

Classic Malia face

Still deciding if she was having a good time or not.

Don't worry we used lots of sunscreen on our Vanilla skinned baby!

Mama and baby

Okay guys, I guess the pool was fun after all!

And then there was the BEACH!! She has been to the beach a bunch living in San Clemente but this was her first time in the sand and water. Again, she wasn't quite sure if she liked it at first..

But then decided she liked the sand between her toes (ps, she is bearing weight on her legs now!)

Mom and dad say, "Malia, you best be liking the beach because you'll be spending a lot more time there!

I repeat: I love my baby!

Dad loves his baby!

W

We spent some time hiking, that was fun!

We attempted to go to church on one of the Sundays, but it just happened to be there Stake conference. Go figure!

Hawaiian baby

Iao Valley. Beautiful! Lot of mosquitoes though so be careful!

NOTE: The rest of the pictures are taken by Kathy. You will notice a tremendous difference in quality. She is amazing!!

Capturing Kirk surf at Hookipa
