On a side note....

We're going to be doing some work on it for a while, but it's ours and we will be moving in 2 weeks!!!!
(more pictures to follow soon)

HaWaii 2009!!

Everytime I go to Hawaii I ask myself as soon as I land: "Why aren't we living here??!" It was the same question this time around. We had a great trip to Hawaii with my family and it was filled with so many fun times that a slide show is the only way to sum up the trip.
My parents rock and it was so generous of them to take us on this highly anticipated vacation! Life has been stressful lately and this trip couldn't have come at a better time.
Travis was graduating from UH and it was fun to be with him to celebrate this special day. It really seems like yesterday that I was graduating from BYUH (oh my gosh it was 5 years ago!). We didn't have grandma's house to stay in this time (very sad) but were able to get some rad time share places down in Waikiki.
While there, we were also able to visit my Uncle Winston that was in a very bad accident last month. I'm happy to report he's doing much, much better! He is looking great, talking, eating and cracking jokes again:) He is still in the hospital, but hopefully he'll be out soon. We are so thankful that he is doing better and for all the extra prayers of our friends.
So, aside from graduation parties and visiting family, we mostly toured around the island, ate, and went to the beach. We laugh about it, but my family knows how to eat! We love eating, especially in Hawaii!
Kirk was able to surf a bunch with Travis and I was able to go to some of my favorite places on the island. We had a great time and are all still hanging on to our Hawaii tans!!

Palm Springs and Sunshine activities

So, blogging has been pushed aside these days due to sheer busy-ness. My mentor at Keller Williams cautions new real estate agents to stay busy, not just appear busy. I really don't know which of the two I've been doing, but it's busy-ness to say the least!
We put an offer in on a home here in San Clemente in the beginning of April. We had been looking for some time and after getting "pre-approved" (far different from getting the actual loan approval!) we started our hunt. We were elated to find a house in South San Clemente with 2,500 square feet and an ocean view! We fell in love and that's where we've been for over a month now. Buying a house is so stressful! Whoever said it was fun apparently wasn't the real estate agent writing the deal on it during an economic crisis with Lenders. Talk about a learning experience! I figure this is my first deal so it's supposed to be difficult and once I get this one deal under my belt it will be so much easier from here on out! (I'm really hoping or else I am going to give up my real estate career)
I have to apologize to everyone because this house has been consuming our lives. We have been spending so much time on it that I have almost forgotten about everyone else! How are all of you doing? I DO care! I swear I am not a horrible friend!
Kirk is plugging away doing an excellent job with his new business and I am still teaching, doing my real estate classes and trying to do a few car deals on the side.
I am so grateful for friends and family however, that help put things into perspective. I was able to get away for a weekend with the girls for some R & R at Palm Springs, and had a blast! Seriously, all we did was play in the pool, lay out, go for golf cart rides and just talk talk talk! It was perfect!

Tiff, Dawn, mommy-to-be Liz and me

We stayed in the nicest place and had fun acting like kids again (I think we even got yelled at by some old people for riding bikes on the golf course! oops.)
Love these ladies that I've been friends with for over a decade! (Tiff for 2 decades!)
The weather was perfect and we all came back with a nice pre-summer tan!
After a pool-side day, some yummy Mexican food!

My fabulous mother had a birthday recently too! We get to celebrate her a lot this time of year with Mother's Day and her birthday! I love you mom!
The girls: me, my mom and lil' sis Brooke!

And then of course, we can always count on the deVilliers for some fun weekend time! We BBQed and ate yummy desserts and then proceded to get addicted to a new game called Sequence. Played it before? We love it!
Kirk, Kels and Jason

Oh and then to really help destress, I am so grateful for a sister that loves being my work out buddy. We have gotten creative this summer since she's been home from school on how we are going to get in shape. We do beach runs and plyometrics, stairs and circuit training down by the harbor, and then we have our fun tennis days!
Aren't I a really good tennis player?;)
Brooke has serious skills!
Look out everyone, we will be playing with the pros one day:)

So, there's the recap on what we've been doing. This week we are leaving for Hawaii to watch my brother graduate from UH and then hopefully we'll be moving into our new house when we get back!

PLEASE take a second to read this

Hello everyone! I am the world's worst blogger and seriously need to step it up a notch! But first things first. One of my dearest and bestest friends from BYU Hawaii, Rachel, is trying to adopt their 2nd baby. It doesn't hurt to read this and then pass it along to everyone you know, and then everyone they know, and then everyone they know...
It's like pay it forward:) Do this nice thing and you'll feel super good inside for helping one of the most amazing families I know adopt a baby that they can love and cherish. Keep reading and I'll blog again soon:)

Thanks,
Chels
