Zoo Day with the Acevedos!

I'll admit I am obsessed with being a mom, but come on!  Is there anything more fun than to see how excited your kids get when they are having fun?!  I just LOVE staring at Malia as she learns new things, or takes in new sights or experiences, or just looks at some fun animals!  We went down to the SD zoo with the Acevedos a few weeks back and the kiddos had a great time.
Malia may turn out to be a tomboy.  She is obsessed with animals (especially lions, tigers, elephants, pigs and dogs) and trains.  These are her favorite things on earth right now.  She likes making these animals sounds and impersonates an elephant's trunk with her arm- it's too much!
"Dad, you better not look, this Jaguar looks pretty scary!" Malia with her daddy, Roman and his mommy and Nick in the background.
This handsome boy is going to take Malia out on her first date when she turns 16;)
Taking a ride on some of the "safer" animals at the zoo.
Mamas and babes.  My bump is about 18 weeks here.  Just growing away!

What a fun day!  The kids passed out simultaneously on the way home.  The grown-ups enjoyed fun conversation, and our passes are still good for another 2 months or so!  Yeah for the zoo!

15 Month OId Malia girl!

I'm telling ya, each month with Malia becomes my new favorite month!  She is so fun and entertaining that it can make a stressful or tough day seem bright!  I have been working a LOT lately (of which I am grateful to have that opportunity to work and be a mother) and so the time I do spend with her is my breath of fresh air.  I love being her mommy!  It's the BEST thing in the world!
Malia is starting to sing along to music, dance and do things the bigger kids like to do.  She wants to climb on everything!  She wants to explore and go places all day long!  She is so independent and won't let me carry her up our steps anymore.  She thinks she is quite the big girl and wants us all to know that too.
My little peanut is such a ham!  This is her saying "cheese" for the camera.  She loves saying cheese (and eating it too;)  She still makes her funny faces all day long and is talking up a storm!  She is desperately trying to put sentences together and help us understand her.  Last night, while spending the night with Nana, she said, "see dog again?"  The other day she told me, "Oh wow, look at that" (in her baby talk that maybe only I can understand)  But honestly, she is a talker!  It's hilarious to see her try and say words that are above her ability:)  p.s. wouldn't you say we are like twins?;)  haha, yeah right!
Our blond hair, green eyed beauty is getting so many teeth!!  She now has almost 8 teeth and 4 molars!!  I can't believe it!  She is feeding herself at each meal and drinking from cups (usually sippy ones though) and picking out her clothes that she wants to wear.  She loves her clothes!  She loves trying things on!  She LOVES her jackets and accessories!  She kills me!  She has a definite opinion about things that she likes to wear and doesn't.  She loves putting shoes on and even wears mom's and dad's around the house. She is still very tall and slender for her age, but that's okay, she still barely has that one fat roll on her thigh that I like to squeeze.  I bet it disappears here soon though:(
She is such a lover!!  I am so happy about this!  She cuddles and loves and hugs just about everything!  After her story time and bottle (yeah, we still give her a baba of milk at night) she likes to cuddle with mom and dad.  Best time of the day hands down!  She insists on hugging all of her animals and dolls, and especially loves to cuddle with Hobbs.  We went to a petting zoo and she wanted to hug each dirty and smelly animal- sheep, goats, bunnies, horsies- yikes.  She needed a bath after that.   I hope my little lover never changes!
Happy 15th month to our precious girl!  She is going to be such a good big sister and is practicing now:)  We are almost done with her new "big girl" room and baby sister is doing just great too:)
Man, who would have thought that having this little family would mean the absolute world to me!  I love them!

A Family Picture

This weekend was awesome. I went garage sale-ing with my mom and found great treasures for Malia and baby sister. We watched Conference and learned so much. We had kirk's parents come into town and did a fun dinner with everyone at Selma's. We went to the beach and played and went on walks. We spent a lot of time with the most important people- family. And here's a random photo of our growing family of 3 at Dana Point harbor. Have a good Monday! The Target in San Clemente opens on Wednesday. That's going to be a GOOD day!;)
