My Heart Is Broken...

Moo Schilling
January 25, 2007- June 21, 2008

I experienced one of the saddest days to note in my life this last week. It's taken me a while to understand and cope with what has happened, and sorry to those that I may have ignored while I needed some time. Before I start, I will say that Katie and Mia were out visiting and we did manage to have a great time. Sorry Katie if I wasn't as chipper and energetic as I usually am, the timing just kinda sucked:(
This last Saturday night/early Sunday morning Moo passed away. One of my biggest fears- something that I had nightmares about and probably always will now, came to pass. Moo was hit by a car the other night while we were away. I blame myself entirely because I was off goofing around and having fun and Moo was home alone. I shudder to think about what was going through her mind in her last moments, "Where is everyone? Have I been forgotten?" She was not the type to run away or even go off exploring. She was like my shadow and didn't even need a leash.
Part of the horror to this experience was that I was the first one that came across her. When I found her it looked as though she was sleeping on the side of the road, but after hours of calling her name I knew she would have heard me if indeed she was napping. I screamed and woke the entire neighborhood. I couldn't breathe and just bawled in the street for a long time. My sweet husband and dad came to my side, and placed her sweetly in a box with her favorite toys and dolls.
That next morning, very somber Weber and Schilling families gathered together to bury and mourn for her. We all loved her so incredibly much. She will be sorely missed. We all had the opportunity to share our favorite memories and quirks about Moo. We loved how she came running to greet you whenever you were home. We loved how she sat on your lap while watching a movie. I loved how she fit in my bike basket perfectly and loved going on rides. She made funny noises. She copied her auntie Kloe and whatever she did. I loved how she needed to be up close against me when we were falling asleep. I loved how she would try to protect me against dogs that were 10x her size. I loved how she played and teased me. Kloe loved her and is very sad to see her gone. I feel as though it was way too early for her to leave us, but I suppose it was her time. My aunt's dog, Maddi, just passed away not too long ago, so I know that she is taking good care of Moo and giving her all the love she needs and deserves. Moo was my joy and I love her always and forever..

Our little girl- the love of my life

I wanted to include some of my favorite pictures of Moo, because these pictures is how I will always remember her:

Moo as a baby chewing on one of her favorite chew toys:)
Halloween 2007. Moo was a strawberry and was adorable. Her cap was a little big though and made her vision just slightly impaired.
Her 1st birthday- seems like it was just yesterday.
Moo LOVED the beach. She was such a California girl at heart. The water did not phase her. If we jumped in, she would come right in after us. When Kirk was surfing she would wait at the shoreline and watch nervously; guess she never understood that Kirk really is a good surfer:)
Braxton was one of her good buddies. She misses you out in Vegas Braxton and and Nicole.
She was so smart.. It may seem hard to believe, but Moo knew English and totally understood me. She knew tricks and could run for miles and miles with me.
I loved how she would just sit and stare at me whatever I was doing. She needed people. She was seriously (and I don't care if I sound gay saying it) one of my best friends.
Man did she love her winter coat. And the lumberjack look worked really well for her.

Learning to sit? Oh that's baby stuff. Our girl was learning how to drive!

So many people loved you Moo, you will always be remembered.

No one even understood how much it meant to me, but the next day at church we talked about life after we all die. I love the gospel and knowing that there is so much more than this mortal life. Someone mentioned pets and how sacred and dear we hold them in our families. I won't forget the feelings that came over me knowing that Moo is someplace else right now and that she will still get to be part of our family. We all love you very much Moo and I will never forget you! When I finally make it up there later, I'll meet you at the dog park:)
Thank you for all the condolences, flowers and cards- I love you all xoxo

What's the Haps??

I'm due for some catch up, so here's a little of what we've been up to lately:) First off...SUMMER IS HERE!!!! Well, I guess technically summer doesn't start until June 21st right, but school is out! The last day of school was Wednesday. It's kinda nice to imagine a summer of no work, but I think I am going to teach summer school. And then there's the real estate factor- I NEED to get on that! If I ever want to move out of our apartment Kirk said that I am going to be the agen on our new place- that is HUGE motivation to get on it! And then there's cars. I bought a car for my sister-in-law last month at the auction and she's super stoked! I know the economy kinda stinks and it might be the last thing on your mind, but if anyone else is in search of a car... Let me know! Still doing Scentsy on the side. Our house always smells good so that's a perk.
We kicked it off the summer extravaganza with a fun party at the pool in Ladera Ranch. Before I had 17 legit nieces and nephews, I was a surrogate aunt to my girlfriend Jamie's little boy Braden and can't believe he turned 7 this year!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MAN!! Here's a shot at the pool on Wednesday, it was such fun!

I swear to you at least half of the moms and kids there must've been Mormon, I mean everyone was pregnant or had 2 or more kids in tow. It made me feel like our species are rabbits- breeding massive litters of children like crazy!!! Oh yes, and to Stacy and Tiffany that I met that day- if you have blogs, let me know!

I just thought this was an awesome action shot of the birthday boy himself. These kids wear me out just watching them! Braden is sooo smart and has so many friends! I couldn't believe how many kids turned out for his day. Love you kiddo!
The mamma and the chaperones. Jamie, Dawn and moi. It was hot, hot, HOT! And fun, fun, fun! We feasted on fruit and gatorade- a fabulous combination for the pool:)
\Little Alana looking cute as ever! She's eight months old and just found out that she is going to be having a new sibling soon!! Congrats Tiff!!
Tiff and Alana- water babes:)

So... Other haps: Natalie celebrated her 27th birthday last weekend and wanted to give a shout out to her!! We partied the night away at Makai up in Santa Monica and aside from our early curfews had a great time!
Some of the party goers: Jamie, me, NAT herself, and Meghan! Jamie's bangs look so much cuter than mine, that's why I pull them back while I'm with her!
This is one of the reasons why you love Natalie. She is so beautiful. She is always posing so gracefully for pictures. Well, if anyone can get away with shots like this it's this girl! Some great things about her is that she is fun and hardworking. She is also a great friend and will drive down from L.A. to hang out. She never forgets special occasions and is always down to just chat! Happy Birthday Nat, love you to pieces!
My better half and me. Had to throw in a lovebird picture since it's been months since we took the last one. Being married is still so fun for us and we are always doing something fun. No complaints on my end, my husband is awesome! After looking again, it kinda looks like I'm stroking his non-existent chin hair.. hmm, don't know what I'm trying to do there.
Oh yes, and then there's the update with where we live: We still LOVE IT!! This is a picture of North Beach today. I went with my sister and enjoyed a relaxing day in the sun. She's a fun buddy to hang out with, can't believe I used to change her diapers. We both jumped in the water and have to say, it's not that bad! So for all of you California folk, get out there and enjoy the beautiful day!!

Now I need to check everyone else's blogs, I apologize. I DO care, just been preoccupied:)

Blog Tag

Apparently there is a blog tag game. I was tagged by my friend Rachel. Here is how you play:
Post these rules on your blog. List 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 random surprising facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
3 Joys:
  1. My husband. I fall more in love every day and I can't get over how perfectly he matches me, it's like he was always supposed to be mine.
  1. Living in beautiful weather. My environment totally affects my personality and outlook on life: Good weather= good disposition! I love the sunshine and living close to the beach. I love that San Clemente has a weather forecast this week of sunny and mid 70's.. ah, the good life! I love that our new apartment has tons of trees so we wake up to birds chirping! I think that is one of life's simple pleasures.
  2. My family. I love, love, LOVE them! My family is so special to me and we can totally laugh and do everything together without getting sick of each other! Not to mention I have the most amazing extended family. I have 6 sister-in-laws thanks to Kirk and I love them all! Every time we get together with his family I feel like it's a little bit of heaven on earth- I love them all!!

3 Fears:
  1. SHARKS! Ever since I was a little girl and I saw a huge shark swim precariously close to my dad's boat, I haven't been able to shake that visual from my mind. Maybe all my fishing experiences has been to my demise, because we've caught some monster sharks and let me tell you, they have jaws on them!
2. Something happening to my family or friends. I cringe thinking about that, not that I do think about it, I just think I would rather die than have something happen to those I love.
3. Something happening to Moo. I know I get the roll of the eyes on this one, but I love her to death! I worry that she might get hit by a car sometimes or that someone might steal her. Mark my words though, if someone did try to kidnap her I would hunt them down and well, do horrible, horrible things to them!!!!

3 Goals:
  1. To get pregnant! Yeah, that's the goal these days, not there yet, but we're crossing our fingers. We wanna have 3 or 4 kiddos, so we are attempting to hop on the baby-bandwagon:)
  2. To be a successful wife, mom and business woman. Between being a car broker, and aspiring real estate agent, I hope to be able to make money while staying home (the majority of the time) with my family. I want to be able to be fun, cook great meals, plan awesome outings and have the energy to keep up with life!
  3. Always be in shape and look good. Forget getting frumpy later on in life- let's stay hot for our husbands, right girls!!
3 obsessions/collections:
  1. I am kinda obsessed to listening to my Ipod on shuffle at all times. That way you never know what's next! I hate silence, so if I am home doing something, so is the music!
  2. I am obsessed with being outside. Lately it's been taking bike rides as much as possible and walking the dogs; I love being outside and need to remember my sunscreen more!
  3. Cars. I love them. I want to have a warehouse of rad cars one day, but I am pretty sure that is not going to happen. One at a time I suppose. Still wanting that little Lexus- I'm obsessed with it right now!
3 surprising facts:
  1. I'm double jointed and can twist my arms and legs in somewhat gross positions. Always a party favorite:)
  2. I can make my stomach growl on command- not sure why or how, just learned it at an early age- another party favorite.
  3. I fell in love with Kirk on our third date and knew I was going to marry him. This is after I had dated someone for years and years and never felt the same way... love is crazy!
So now I am tagging 5 friends, and they are: Katie, Julie, Sami, Chrissy, Brittany A. and Brittany S., Nicole, KB, and everyone else that wants to play!!

Look what we FOUND!!

While enjoying dinner last night at my parents house, Kirk looks outside and nonchalantly asks, "Who's snake is that?" Just a foot or so away we see this beautiful California King snake slither by us- so rad! My dad quickly got up to catch it and now my sister's boyfriend has adopted it as his pet. I am only afraid of snakes that will kill me, so I was excited to play with this little guy for a while. Our family had a pet snake growing up that we loved. His name was Casper and he was an escape artist. Aside for the couple of times I found him in places that surprised me a bit, he was a great pet!
Lovely little guy..
Making a new home:)

Memories of Memorial Day..

Because riding bikes has become one of our favorite things to do, we ventured up to Newport for some bike riding on Memorial Day. Kelly was awesome enough to join us and we had a blast cruising up to Huntington and down to Balboa. It could not have been a more gorgeous day! What could be better than lunch at Wahoo's, sidewalk sales, sun on our shoulders and gelato to finish the day?? Oh yeah, spending it with 2 super fun people!
What I like about this picture is that you are actually looking at the playground and court for an elementary school. So, the kids basically play on the beach during recess which is just about the coolest thing I have ever seen! Even when I was student teaching at Sunset Elementary on the North Shore of Oahu, we had a park that separated us from Pipeline. Yeah, otherwise those little gromes would be catching a few waves during their 20 minute recess break!
So we started our ride with two bikes for 3 people.. Creativity was needed here. This tandem biking didn't last too long and we rented another bike so we could all participate.
It's a good thing Kelly and I are so incredibly skinny and were able to fit on one seat;) FYI she is living in the cutest beach cottage right on the beach in Newport and even has a little shoebox of a room for us to stay in when we come up! Yeah for holidays! Long weekends rule!
