Family Pictures by Jill Facer

Jill Facer, you rock!  Thank you so much for taking our first "family pictures!" We had so much fun doing this shoot.  Enjoy!
 Kirk 32yrs, Chelsea 30yrs and Malia >9months!

10 month old Malia Joy!

*Sneak peek of an amazing photo session by Jill Facer Photography:
This Princess Buttercup turned 10 months old yesterday!!!  It's going by soooo slow;) haha, just kidding.  I agree with every parent that says it goes by too fast.  It does. I want my baby to be a baby forever!  This is why we will have to have more babies- I don't know how anyone could be content with one.
But no, I am not making any such announcement as of yet;)
So, Malia is 10 months and the FUNNEST baby on earth!  Her easy going demeanor and happily complacent disposition makes her a favorite wherever we go.  She is nothing like I was as a baby.  She hardly cries, eats good, sleeps good and is as healthy as can be.  She loves to play and be around others. Her personality is really starting to shine through with her distinct "likes" and "dislikes."  These are some of the new things this month:
  • Still LOVES her balls, swaddlers, binkies for naps, kids and is OBSESSED with the beach and water.  She would swim all day in freezing water if we let her.  She literally squeals and laughs as soon as she sees the water when we head down to the beach.
  • She likes all food (so far).  She'll eat anything we're eating.  If there is something she isn't enamored with, she'll still eat it if you heat it up (weird little girl).
  • She is still on the 2 long naps a day (9:30-11:30am and 3:30-5:30pm) Bed at 8:30 and wake up around 7:30 or 8.  She is down to four 4-5oz. bottles a day plus water in her sippy cup which she's mastered!
  • She is a mover, but not necessarily a "crawler."  She is super fast at scooting on her bottom places or 'slugging' around on her tummy.  She gets on her knees but only to check things out at a different height or to rock back and forth. We have a lot of hard floors in our house so maybe she's over that?
  • She is a big fan of music both being played or on the radio.  She wants to participate when I'm playing the piano and I let her pound (softly) on the keys with me.  We got her an xylophone that she enjoys playing as well!
  • She is SUCH a vocal baby!  Holy moly.  It is non-stop jibber jabber. She sings, talks, squeals and makes funny sounds that make her and others laugh.  Her favorite words these days are "wow!" "ball" "baba" (bottle) "dada" "mama" "Da" (Hobbs) "Oww" What's funny is she'll say other words but not have a clue what she said.  Like the other day, I distinctly heard "no really," "not now," and "come Hobbs" I know it doesn't mean anything but it's startling to hear that in the back seat and turn around only to see a 10 month old.
  • Hobbs is her best friend.  He's the first thing she looks for in the morning and when he scrambles into her room she lets out a high pitched squeal.
  • She is a cuddler!!!!  Yay!!!  I am so happy about this!  She hums and rests her head on your shoulder and will bury her face in your neck if she's tired.  She likes to be held more these days too.
  • She out grew her Baby Bjorn and is using her Baby Hawk instead since my back was killing me.  I love it and she does too!
  • I had to cut her bangs because her hair is getting so long.  It's super straight like mine.  That's cool since she doesn't look anything like me.
  • People keep saying how much she looks like Kirk or (gasp!) my dad.  I am ok with this, but will give a huge reward for someone saying she looks like me one day.
  • She is getting hurt these days as she is opening and closing doors and drawers and hitting her head on things she runs into. It's sad to hear her hurt cry, but it stops when you pick her up and give her some love.  I love that this girl loves love!  She gives sloppy open mouth kisses and nuzzles.
  • She is still crazy tall and rather slender.  We were at the park the other day and there was a baby 3 months older than her that was inches shorter.  And since Malia has so much hair as well, people always think she's a lot older.
  • Her mom and dad are doing great and just love her to pieces.  We fight over who gets to get her in the morning because that is when she is especially happy and snuggly.
  • We love you our giant, big headed 10 month old!!!

A Baby Shower to Welcome Brette's Little Gentleman!

Brette and Matt are going to be having a little boy soon!  We are dying to meet little Curran!
Brette's sister Kellyn, Brittany and Matt's mom and I prepared a fun shower for the mama to be!
I am going to say I really didn't have much to do with it because I don't have the creativity level of these other ladies.  But I know how to follow directions, so that's good:)
Brette's glowing at 38 weeks here!  She is all belly!
Brette and her big sis, Kellyn
Some of us ladies enjoying good food, sunshine and good company!
Do you see how cute these centerpieces are?  I wish my whole house looked like this.
Brit and Kellyn put these adorable glasses together.  Yes, they are pretty much professional party planners.
Little boy gifts are so cute!
 Fun times!
And of course, good food:)
I love that we celebrate babies coming into the world.  What a wonderful, amazing and super special party for soon-to-be mommies and their little loves.
I am obsessed with babies and feel like I better watch out or I'll get another one here soon;)

Bocha, Bocha Time!!

We have a Bath time song in our house.  It's called "Bocha Time!" It's to the tune of "Macho Macho Man" and we all think it's hilarious.  As you can tell, we love baths and Miss Malia is the Biggest fan of all time.  She would like to live in the bath if we would let her.  Sometimes she just hangs out in there with her toys after I drain all the water out.  She's funny.
Although I have to watch closely when she does this, she loves to get on her belly and blow bubbles in the water.  It's awesome because she'll do this in the pool too!  And in my water glass when we are out eating!  It's fantastic!
It's so nice to be clean!!!!
And it's fun to suck on wash cloths and do funny things to my hair
Before: Messy face from feeding myself some dinner
One of my favorite faces of all time.  This is the "let  me have it" look.
Mom lets me practice my cup drinking in the tub (what better place to learn!)  Of course it's done before we get it all soapy.
p.s.  Bocha means bath in Hawaii.  I grew up knowing it no way else.  Malia will too I bet;)

Easter 2011

Yeah, I kinda blew it with Easter pictures this year.  It was Malia's first Easter.  It was grand!  We spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's, had a yummy breakfast and went to church (on time!! Whoo hoo!)
The only pics I took were of the babe after church when she was in desperate need of a nap.
Next year we will have amazing pictures and egg hunts and Easter baskets and fluffy dresses.  I promise.

This is my brother on his mission

The reason why you don't get to see many pictures of my brother and sister lately is because they are both serving missions for our church. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Our gospel is based on our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus who died for us.
Many times the youth of our church around the age of 19 for the boys and 21 for the girls serve missions to preach the gospel.
Elder Weber (my awesome brother) is in Perth Australia.  Isn't it beautiful there?  My little sister, Hermana Weber (Hermana is how you say 'sister' in Spanish) is in New York serving a Spanish speaking mission.  They are both awesome and I miss them so.  I am so proud of them and love them like crazy!  Can't wait for them to get home in November!

Cousins at the Beach!

We LOVE summer in the Schilling household!  No more UGGS, heater running all night, sweatshirts in the house and NOW IT'S BEACH TIME!!!
A huge perk of living a few blocks from the beach is that people love to visit!
Girl Cousins: Jurnie, Malia and Skyler- they are best friends!
And sweet Sky, (who will eternally be 2 with a pacifier in her mouth how I met her) is the best little baby sitter!  It was nice having my "mommy helpers" down at the beach so I could lay out!
Sloan is a crack up!  All the pictures of him for the day he was covering his eyes.  Who knows?  And p.s., Sloan, Sky and Brock are going to be having a little sister join them in September!  Yipee!!! So many girl cousins that will be like months apart!
We love the beach.  We love our family.  We love the summer.  We love where we live:)
Amen.
